　　The 8MSC4X.R0-K4 provides 20 discrete input channels to which 10-32VDC signals can be connected. The modules have a +24VDC compliance voltage for connecting relay contacts, solid state switches, or other devices that require excitation. Discrete input status can be read individually or as a block, and logic polarity can be user-defined as standard or inverted. The field inputs have switching times and can measure pulses as narrow as 200µs. Field input connections are made via CAGE CLAMP® terminal blocks.

　　There are 20 isolated discrete output channels that can switch signals up to 60VDC and draw currents up to 3A. Channels can be switched individually or in groups, and the user-configurable default output state (set at power-up or module reset) ensures fail-safe operation for critical applications. Logic polarity can be user-defined as standard or reversed. Output-to-bus isolation in the module is 1500Vrms, and each individual channel is protected against accidental wiring errors by up to 60VDC continuous overload. In addition, the module has 150Vrms inter-channel isolation, enabling control of devices with or without a common signal ground or different devices with multiple reference potentials.
