　　The 8MSA6X.R0-X20C-1 is based on Altera's FPGA and includes PHY and RJ45 jacks in addition to the integrated 32-bit CPU and Ethernet controller. Depending on the industrial Ethernet protocol implemented, the Ethernet interface can be single-routed (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP) or dual-routed (Powerlink, EtherCAT). Models with an integrated 2-port switch for PROFINET and EtherNet/IP line topologies are also available. Using the publicly available host CPU programming interface (host API in the C source code), vendors can easily connect their devices using the SPI or standardised µC interface.

　　The modules are mounted in a fixed aluminium body containing aluminium actuators, brackets and ball screw drives. Using Rexroth's eLINE hybrid guidance technology, two hardened steel rails and a fixed carriage are integrated into the aluminium housing to precisely guide the actuator and absorb pitch and roll moments. the fixed housing and eLINE guidance technology in the VKK module produces a lower moving mass than conventional moving-body actuators. The low moving mass of the actuator reduces the motor force required for the application and allows a smaller motor to be used to drive the system, ultimately resulting in higher overall system dynamics and faster cycle times. Cable management is also simplified.
