The core component of the RapID platform is the Fido1100 communication controller that can handle all Profinet or EtherNet/IP traffic. The platform can be used as a network processor next to the host microcontroller or as a standalone solution, allowing applications to run directly on the RapID platform. All software provides royalty free usage rights without any implied fees. The circuit diagram has been carefully designed to provide robust and long-lasting industrial grade performance at the lowest bill of materials cost. The Ethernet physical interface includes protective circuits, dual color LEDs, and magnetic components integrated into the connector. By using the unique deterministic hardware and software architecture of Fido1100, the number of cycles can be reduced to one millisecond.
